A clear, light rose color is the outstanding characteristic of Astilbe x rosea 'Peach Blossom.' Spikes are heavy with flowers beginning in late June, and the stems are thick and sturdy.
Best in morning sun with afternoon shade, thrives in moist, fertile soils. Grows to 2 feet high and wide. For maximum impact, plant in groups of 5 or more. Deer tend to avoid.
Astilbes are tough, pest-free, and handsome. The only thing they cannot endure is drought. Astilbe blooms are useful for cutting if they are picked when half open.
